Literacy Week

Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is the last week of January every year.  The Just Read, Florida! Office and the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), in partnership with other FDOE offices, school districts, state organizations and agencies, assist with this literacy initiative.  The goal of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is to inspire a love of reading and writing while strengthening literacy skills in the students of Florida.    Schools are encouraged to plan activities and events for Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! to support literacy.

Midtown Academy's Reading Committee led by Library/Media Tech Specialist Ms. Myers plans and coordinates Midtown's events and activities.
