One School One Book

Read to Them's One School, One Book program is currently in 3,000+ schools, reaching more than 2.4 million students in the United States.  The program shows schools and families the wide array of benefits that come from reading aloud together. A child’s positive relationship with literacy provides the basis for a lifetime of learning. This school-wide reading program supports reading together at home and learning together at school by providing schools with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to create a culture of literacy in their community.

Midtown Academy has been a supporter of One School One Book for several years, with students and staff most recently reading Wishtree (2026), Malcolm at Midnight (2025), and A Boy Called Bat (2024).  Activities and events are planned and coordinated by Midtown's Reading Committee led by Library/Media Tech Specialist Ms. Myers.
